EEG Test Guidelines
To guarantee clean sensor contact and precise readings, please follow these preparation guidelines:
Clean, Dry Hair
Wash your hair the night before or the morning of the test. Do not apply any hair oils, gels, hairsprays, or conditioners, as they create an insulation barrier for the sensors.
Skip Caffeine & Stimulants
Avoid drinks containing coffee, tea, cola, or chocolate for at least 8-12 hours prior to testing, as they alter native brainwave patterns.
Continue Prescribed Medications
Do not alter or discontinue regular anti-seizure or routine medications unless explicitly instructed by your referring neurologist.
Sleep Deprivation (If Requested)
If you are scheduled for a Sleep-Deprived EEG, you may be asked to sleep less than usual or stay awake the night before your procedure.
